Joanna Pascale Jazz Band Live
(Wednesday through Saturday from 6 to 9p.m)

What would fine dining be without great music? SoleFood Restaurant proudly presents renowned jazz recoding artist Joanna Pascale in the lounge at SoleFood Wednesday through Friday 6pm to 9pm.

Located in the historic PSFS Building, SoleFood offers a new American seafood inspired menu in a chic, relaxed, upscale atmosphere. SoleFood features a daily happy hour and is also the perfect place for before or after the theater. Pascale's performance adds yet another element to one of Philadelphiamost sophisticated and stylish eateries.

Pascale, who is currently working on her second disc, has received critical acclaim from local, regional and national music publications for her impressive vocal range, flawless intonation and abundance of feeling that she incorporates into each song.

Since emerging onto Philadelphia's jazz scene, Pascale has established herself as a compelling and skilled vocalist. At just 24 years old, she already has a working repertoire of over 400 songs. She brings a strong emotional element as well as a solid sense of swing to her uncommonly large catalogue of jazz standards.

She began her musical education as a listener in her household. "I grew up listening to old vinyl albums of Billie Holiday, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan and Nat King Cole," she recalls. "I learned those songs as if they were a part of my generation's popular music," she said.

Her love for jazz eventually took her to Philadelphia's High School for Creative and Performing Arts where she began to develop her unique repertoire. After graduating she went on to Temple University where she studied music with such instructors as Terell Stafford and Bruce Barth.

What sets Pascale apart from other vocalists is her musicianship. Despite her young age, Pascale brings a depth of artistry to her music that rivals that of many singers who have been in the business for decades. The Philadelphia Metro raved, "Don't let her age fool you, Joanne Pascale is a highly sophisticated singer."

Philadelphia Weekly calls Pascale, "Stunning, sophisticated and extremely soulful." While All About Jazz states, "Joanna Pascale is a new, young talent to be reckoned with. IT will be intriguing to see and hear what her future holds in store."
