Clubs and Bars in Hollywood
Non-Stop Nightlife on the Sunset Strip
Non-stop nightlife is a hallmark of the Hollywood lifestyle. As a ritzy enclave tucked away in the north end of Southern California, Hollywood and surrounding neighborhoods provide plenty of places to spend a relaxing evening or a late night. Consult our expert Concierge for tips on planning the perfect night out.
The Sunset Strip/West Hollywood
Once the breeding ground for bands such as Van Halen, Poison and Guns N’ Roses, the Sunset Strip is now a refined, if eclectic, collection of music venues, clubs and bars. Some of LA’s most exclusive nightspots and most exciting under-the-radar finds sit side-by-side on the 1.5-mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard that runs through West Hollywood. Spend an evening enjoying up-and-coming and established comedians at The Comedy Store, catch a show at the House of Blues, savor a true speakeasy experience at On the Rox, or settle in with a whiskey at the 26-foot oak bar at Rock & Reilly’s.
Hollywood and Highland
You don’t need to travel far from our hotel to find some of the finest Hollywood nightlife destinations. Get the evening started with classic American dining and SoCal’s best bowling experience at Lucky Strike Lanes. Next, take your party to Level 3, a sleek 10,000-square-foot nightclub with a distinctly South Beach vibe. Make your next stop OHM Nightclub on the 4th floor, the hottest new club to open in Hollywood that routinely plays host to the top DJs in the world.
Countless other nightlife districts have sprung up throughout SoCal, but Tinseltown’s original drag is still the area’s go-to nightlife destination. Hollywood Boulevard is the center of the action each and every night, as a diverse collection of bars and restaurants cater to crowds of celebrities, visitors and locals. Just a short stroll from our hotel you’ll find an immersive dinner-drinks-and-dance experience at supperclub, the unique scene at Beauty Bar, and great live music at the Burgundy Room.
After sitting dormant while nearby neighborhoods flourished, Downtown LA has re-emerged as one of Southern California’s hottest nightlife destinations. Downtown offers a diverse range of nightlife options, including sports bars (The Down And Out), upscale lounges (Golden Gopher), whiskey bars (Seven Grand), and character-filled casual spots (Bar 107). Downtown LA is just eight miles southeast of Hollywood along the Hollywood Freeway.
This hidden gem of a neighborhood is tucked away just east of Hollywood, offering a low-key alternative to the amped-up nightlife along the Sunset Strip. Many of Silver Lake’s best bars offer much more than they seem to at first glance, as Silver Lake Lounge, Spaceland, and the Red Lion offer charming kitsch, and LA’s most exciting indie music.
Head west toward the Pacific for a refreshing dose of relaxed nightlife. Santa Monica might be a suburb, but it isn’t solely comprised of quiet residential streets. The city’s upscale downtown area features a wide array of bars, including the music-centric Barcopa, a great beer selection at Barney’s Beanery, and a refined atmosphere at Hillstone.
