Getting Around

Originally known in Algonquin as "kebec," or "where the river narrows," Quebec City overlooks the St. Lawrence River as it winds through the heart of the province on its way to the Atlantic. As the only fortified city north of Mexico, Quebec City's rich history has been impeccably preserved. Narrow cobbled streets, old stone homes, ramparts and cannons contribute to the old-world charm that permeates every square inch of the city, to charm every sense of its visitors.
