Q: Is the Convention Center within walking distance of the Loews?
A: Yes. The Pennsylvania Convention center is right across the street, and on the way is the Reading Terminal Market, the Best, Freshest and Liveliest Public Market since 1893. A great place to find delicious Philly-style treats.
Q: Can I walk to the Liberty Bell?
A: Yes. The Liberty Bell and all of the historic sites of Independence Mall are only 6 short blocks away located at 6th and Market Street. You should start your historic adventure at the Independence Visitor’s Center, where you can get lots of great information about the area. Don’t forget to ask about “Breakfast with Ben” on Saturdays!
Q: How can I get from the Philadelphia Airport to the hotel?
A: There are a number of options available to get to the hotel: Taxi: Flat $28.50 fare and are available outside the baggage claim area Shuttle Vans: Flat $10 per person fare and are also available outside the baggage claim area Regional Rail R1: Runs every 30 minutes stopping at each Terminal.
Q: How can I get from the Atlantic City Airport (ACY) to the hotel?
A: Merge on to Atlantic City Expressway West to Philadelphia / Camden. It becomes RT-42N and then I-76W. Take I-676W/US-30W exit on the left and exit at Broad ST. Turn left at Arch ST, and right at 12th ST. Hotel parking is just past Market ST on your right. It is 50 miles to the hotel, approximately one hour.
Q: What does PSFS stand for? I saw a picture of the sign on the roof.
A: PSFS stands for “Philadelphia Savings Fund Society”, built in 1932. The 27’ high PSFS sign illuminated the landmark building in a halo of red neon, the first time that advertising was integrated into a building’s design. The PSFS is visible from a 20 mile distance on a clear night. More info
Q: Does the hotel have a swimming pool?
A: Yes. There is a 20-meter, 2-lane heated lap pool located on the 5th Floor of the hotel. Towels and a locker room are available.
Q: Is the Loews close to the “Rocky” steps?
A: Yes. In the academy award-winning movie Rocky, Sylvester Stallone, famously runs up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. You can do your own Rocky impersonation 365 days a year by visiting the Art Museum steps, a very pleasant 30 minute walk along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
