Meet our Bourbon and Spirits Master, Brian Bevilacqua

Meet the Expert

Bank & Bourbon offers a unique barrel aging program on site for an array of spirits. This auspicious program is under the refined eye and palate of its Bourbon and Spirits Master, Brian Bevilacqua.

Bevilacqua joins the Bank & Bourbon team with nearly two decades of experience as a career bartender and expert in mixology and creative libations. He is dedicated to the craft of bartending and continues to expand his know how and proficiency of spirits through an array of educational opportunities and first hand experiences.

As the Spirits Master, Bevilacqua will use his training and knowledge of fine spirits, to teach classes educating and experiencing others, from the novice to the expert, on an array of topics related to all aspects of fine spirits as well as drink and food pairings.

Bevilacqua’s position as the Spirits Master encompasses all aspects of the guests’ beverage experience at Bank & Bourbon, with an enhanced focus on bourbon, whiskey and rye, as well as wine and beer. Bevilacqua’s extensive knowledge of spirits allows him to help guests navigate Bank & Bourbon’s bourbon, whiskey and rye menu, which features rare and old items as well as those barrel aged on site.

“I started bartending around 2000. I bought my first cocktail book, Cocktail, by Paul Harrington when I was underage,” Bevilacqua says, adding, “I fell in love with the stories behind each drink. My brother-in law was from New Orleans and used to make me sazerac way before you would ever see one on a menu. That’s when I started searching for history about cocktails and spirits. I always loved history and enjoyed the role alcohol has played over time."

Bevilacqua hails from New Jersey originally, but now calls Philly his home and when he's not busy creating new cocktails, he enjoys learning about spirits and trying to have cocktails at the places where they were created. He also enjoys running and supporting the CAF in races.
