Downtown Boston Shopping Areas
There are some locals who might tell you that no visit to Boston could possibly be complete without a tour of nearby Newbury Street—eight blocks of salons, boutiques, and fabulous dining. If you’re up for something a bit larger (and indoors!), the Mall at Copley Place is by far Boston's most distinctive shopping destination, with 75 top-of-the-line stores including Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York and Tiffany & Co. Head east from the Boston Common and you’ll find Downtown Crossing—which has every kind of retail establishment known to mankind, including jewelry and music stores, souvenir sellers and lots of street vendors. (It’s the perfect place to indulge in a leisurely afternoon of window shopping and browsing.) And if you want to mix some history with your retail therapy, Faneuil Hall Marketplace has been drawing lively crowds looking for a good time since 1742. Finally, should you find yourself in the mood for a good deal, head outside the city—via car or by scheduled shuttle bus—and visit the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets, offering over 150 outlet stores.
