Rays Baseball at Tropicana Field

Home to the Tampa Bay Rays since 1998, Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, just 15 minutes away, features one of the largest cable-supported domed roofs which gives off an orange glow when the Rays are not playing. Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL)

Professional Golf (PGA & LPGA)
Home to two pro events, Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club is one of many championship courses in the area. Copperhead Course is host to the PGA TOUR’s Transitions Championship, an official 72-hole event. Held in March, the event features 144 PGA TOUR golfers, with proceeds from ticket sales benefiting area charities. The LPGA selected the extraordinarily picturesque Island Course as the site of its first Legends Tour Open Championship, proving that women professionals appreciate Innisbrook’s golfing experience as much as their PGA TOUR counterparts.
MLB Spring Training
The St. Pete/Clearwater area has a 90-plus-year history of Spring Training. The area features the Philadelphia in Clearwater, the Toronto Blue Jays in Dunedin and the New York Yankees in nearby Tampa. There are also 9 other teams within a two-hour drive. Spring Training provides a rare treat for the area's three big-league teams to practice in the beautiful and warm outdoors. More info
St. Anthony’s Triathlon
St. Anthony’s is a season opener on the professional triathlon circuit, attracting some of the sport's biggest names and 3,000 competitors with a purse of $30,000. Athletes converge on the downtown waterfront each April for the Olympic-distance event - a 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run. More info
Outback Bowl – NCAA College Football
The Outback Bowl is a college football game that is typically played on New Year's Day featuring teams from the SEC and Big Ten Conference (3rd pick from each). The game is a culmination of a weeklong schedule of events throughout the Tampa Bay. More info
Thoroughbred Racing at Tampa Bay Downs
Tampa Bay Downs is the only Thoroughbred racetrack on the West Coast of Florida, and is known as one of America's oldest and most well-maintained racetracks. Tampa Bay Downs added its 7/8th mile grass track, complete with a ¼ mile chute, in 1998, and has become one of the most popular turf courses in North America. Live racing December – May, the facility is open all year for simulcast and poker. More info
