Brownings massage therapists offer several specialized modalities including Swedish, Deep Tissue or Authentic Sports Massage for athletes. In addition we can provide Connective Tissue release, CranioSacral Therapy, and Reiki. Our Manhattan New York spa treatments are available in our treatment room or your hotel room.
Swedish Massage involves the use of kneading, stroking, friction, tapping, and vibration and may provide relief from stiffness, numbness, pain, constipation, and other health problems. The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. This massage is perfect for relaxation and revitalization.

Deep Tissue Massage goes below superficial connective tissue with the intent of breaking up old structural patterns and allowing the free flow of nutrients and oxygen in the blood. Deep tissue requires that the therapist apply a considerable amount of pressure which in some cases may cause some discomfort. Deep Tissue Massage will reduce pain, increase range of motion of limbs by restoring mobility, relax and sooth muscles and aid muscles to stay flexible. Deep Tissue Massages are best for athletes, individuals with chronic joint or muscle injuries, those with muscle or joint strain and those who suffer from stress.

Heated or Hot Stone massage is a type of treatment that uses warmed stones to relax muscles and induce a calming state of mind. Hot Stone Massages are intended to be extremely relaxing. A heated stone massage involves the placement of warmed, smooth rocks upon different parts of the body. Typically, the treatment is done in conjunction with traditional massage techniques, such as Swedish massage, and the stones may be used with applied pressure by the massage therapist during the treatment. Great for relaxation and stress relief.
