When it was time to debut a brand new restaurant at Loews Madison, nothing less than the best would do—which is why we teamed up with Iron Chef Jose Garces to open Rural Society, an Argentine steakhouse inspired by Chef's own travels in South America. The name Rural Society is derived from La Exposicion Rural, a livestock show in Argentina with a rich history that dates back to 1866. Inspired by the sights, sounds, tastes and traditions of Rural Society, Chef Garces created the menu for his first D.C. restaurant to revolve around a parrilla—Argentine grill. Now, the open flames of the grill welcome guests into the restaurant, and create a centerpiece for guests to watch as their meats, fish and vegetables are grilled.
Rural Society also celebrates the Italian culture of Argentina, so guests can also savor handmade pastas and fugazzas (thick-crust Argentine pizza).
In addition to signature cocktails, apéritifs and digestifs, Rural Society's Bar showcases the best South American and Argentine wines.
