Transportation & Tours

Getting Around Minneapolis

Minneapolis has a great light rail and bus system called METRO Transit. A new green line connects stations in downtown Minneapolis to locations in Saint Paul. Riders can purchase a rail pass at any of the ticket machines located at each station. Fares are: $2.25 for a 2.5-hour fare during rush hour; $1.75 for non-rush hours and weekends; $4 for a 6-hour pass ($3.50 on weekends) or $6 for a day pass.

Skyways

This eight-mile system of skyway paths is perched one floor above ground and covers an impressive amount of downtown. Linking 80 blocks, in climate-controlled enclosed walkways, Skyways means you never have to skip visiting that nearby restaurant or heading out for a spot of shopping because of bad weather. The system connects almost every building in the downtown metropolis, and accommodates more than 200,000 pedestrians a day.

Airport Transportation

The taxi fare between Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and the hotel, in either direction, is approximately $30.  Public transport is also available.

By Light Rail

The METRO Transit Light Rail trains stop at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, connecting travelers to downtown Minneapolis.  Take the Blue Line northbound and exit at the Warehouse – Hennepin Avenue Station to reach Loews Minneapolis. The hotel is two blocks away from the station.

By Bus

City bus service – Route 54 – is available outside Terminal 1, on Level 1 of the Blue and Red parking ramps. (There is no bus pick-up at Terminal 2. Passengers may transfer between Terminals 1 and 2 via light rail transit.)
