Known as an outdoor haven because of its year-round wonderful climate, San Diego appeals to the most enthusiastic sports fans. Our city is home to a number of professional sports teams, the Del Mar Race Track, and PGA golf.

In addition, our area has a thriving arts scene that’s really quite impressive. So pick up tickets to the Old Globe, the La Jolla Playhouse, or the Coronado Playhouse. Or enjoy a performance of the San Diego Symphony or the San Diego Opera. If you’ve already visited our Cays Lounge or Mistral Bar, we hope you’ll step out and try some of the area’s other hot spots.


The Old Globe Theater at Balboa Park

The internationally acclaimed, Tony® Award-winning Old Globe is one of the most renowned regional theatres in the country, and has stood as San Diego’s flagship arts institution for over 75 years. The Old Globe produces a year-round season of 15 plays and musicals on its three stages, including its highly regarded Shakespeare festival.

La Jolla Playhouse

La Jolla Playhouse was founded in 1947 by Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire and Mel Ferrer. It has created 24 productions that have transferred to Broadway, earning 35 Tony Awards. An additional 35 productions have gone on to successful runs Off-Broadway and to regional theatres across the country, including the Kennedy Center, Chicago’s Goodman Theatre and the Humana Festival, as well as to international venues from London to Moscow.

Lamb’s Players Theater (Coronado Village & Downtown San Diego)

Lamb’s is one of Southern California’s leading non-profit performing arts organizations, producing year-round in two vibrant locations; in Coronado and in the Horton Grand Theatre in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The Coronado Theater is located in the historic Spreckels Building on the main street in Coronado and seats 350 in a European amphitheater style with terrific sightlines.

The Coronado Playhouse

An intimate, 96-seat cabaret-style theatre with a full-service bar. The venue, which opened in 2006 with state of the art equipment, still overlooks beautiful Glorietta Bay. The Playhouse is dedicated to providing quality entertainment with a mix of classic and modern comedies, dramas, and mysteries; dazzling musicals; colorful free Shakespeare; and exciting original works by local authors.
