This family baking business started as a roadside stand in the 1960s and has since risen to local fame in both Portland and Seattle. Local ingredients are key; you’ll taste sustainable Washington State grains and wheat in the range of artisan and specialty breads. Its claim to fame: the Como loaf, a signature Italian-style hearth bread with a golden crust and chewy interior. Here at Loews Hotel 1000, you can try another hot commodity – Grand Central’s pumpernickel bread, used in our restaurant’s Smoked Salmon Rillettes.
