Loews Atlanta Hotel’s Golden Egg Hunt gives locals a dozen reasons to hop around Atlanta

Adults-only Easter event features thousands of dollars in prizes, benefits children’s charity

ATLANTA, Ga. (April 1, 2014) – Atlantans who think Easter egg hunts are just for the kids will get the chance to hunt down their own adults-only eggs across the city as Loews Atlanta Hotel hosts its free, luxury-prize-filled Golden Egg Hunt on April 20.

The event, in partnership with the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau and Bert’s Big Adventure, is a twist on the classic egg hunt in which the hotel’s signature golden eggs are scattered across 12 top-secret locations throughout the city. One egg at each location is filled with a covetable prize such as tickets to World of Coca-Cola, the High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, services from Exhale Mind Body Spa, gift cards to some of the city’s best restaurants and more. Plus, random eggs throughout the hunt will be filled with grand prize weekend stays at Loews Hotels & Resorts.

Participants will start the hunt at Loews Atlanta Hotel, located at 1065 Peachtree St. NE in Midtown, at 10 a.m. on Easter Sunday where they will receive their golden egg treasure map, an “I Am ATL” t-shirt or tank top from the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, and an Easter basket filled with goodies. A dozen golden eggs will be planted at each top-secret location, but just one egg holds the prize. Hunters won’t know who selected the lucky eggs until they crack them open at the finish line in the lobby of the hotel.

In keeping with the Easter egg hunt spirit traditionally associated with kids, the hotel has partnered with Bert’s Big Adventure, a nonprofit that provides all-expenses-paid, five-day journeys to Walt Disney World® for children with chronic and terminal illnesses and their families, for the event. Although the hunt is free, participants are encouraged to give a suggested donation of $15 per person. All proceeds benefit Bert’s Big Adventure.

“The golden egg hunt was so popular last year that we’re bringing it back again with even more free swag and even bigger prizes,” said Mark Castriota, general manager at Loews Atlanta Hotel. “We’re proud to bring the adults of Atlanta together to celebrate Easter and have some fun while also benefiting a worthy cause like Bert’s Big Adventure.”

Locals and out-of-towners wanting to make a holiday weekend of the event can book the Golden Egg Hunt Package which includes a welcome Easter basket amenity, admission to the golden egg hunt, Easter brunch for two at Restaurant Eleven, complimentary premium internet and complimentary valet parking for one vehicle for the length of stay.
