Swizzle Stick Bar in New Orleans

Operated by the Commander’s Palace Family of Restaurants, The Swizzle Stick Bar is located on the lobby level of the hotel. The concept is a nod to the Brennans’ beloved aunt, Adelaide Brennan, whose joie de vivre and charming pursuit of the good life is captured in the décor and design.  Named for the gold swizzle stick that Adelaide wore around her neck, this fun watering hole is getting a lot of attention from locals and visitors alike.

Bar Chef Lu Brow was named best bartender in New Orleans in 2006 by New Orleans Magazine.  Since then, the accolades have just kept coming.  Best known for reviving classic cocktails and her dedication to the art of the perfect presentation, Lu uses only fresh ingredients (always mixing her own juices and mixers, never using canned or bottled ingredients).  Sample an Adelaide Swizzle, Side Car or Gin Fizz in good company.  The Corpse Reviver Number 2 and Lu's Bloody Mary are among the best sellers!

Lu works closely with Executive Chef Chris Lusk to create special events in the Swizzle Stick, including the "Bar Chef Table".   Available Monday through Thursday evenings, by reservation, this memorable evening is designed for four guests and takes place in the New Orleans bar.  A custom menu is planned by Chef Lusk, based on the guests' preferences, and each course is paired with a special cocktail, to complement the food.  Lu personally oversees the entire event, serving her special drinks in vintage glassware, while discussing the merits of each pairing throughout the evening. Enjoy live entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening at Swizzle Stick Bar in New Orleans.
