Loews Hotel 1000, Seattle Completes Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

Guest rooms, meeting space, lobby, and restaurant revitalization refine luxurious Seattle hotel

SEATTLE, WA - OCTOBER 13, 2017

Loews Hotel 1000 completed a comprehensive renovation to enhance the overall guest experience and maintain its competitive presence in the Seattle marketplace. The multi-million dollar remastering of the guest rooms, meeting space, lobby and restaurant was completed in October 2017. The new look created a luminous modern refinement throughout the hotel, while paying homage to the rich history of its location.

“We are very excited to introduce our guests to Emerald Elegance Unscripted with the complete enhancement of our hotel,” said John Power, General Manager, Loews Hotel 1000. “We worked with Simeone Deary Design Group to create a retreat that is contemporary, chic and that fits beautifully into the Seattle business and arts district.”

Design inspiration came from the beautiful juxtaposition that is inherent to Seattle, the contrast of the lush nature that surrounds the city and the urban grid of the city itself. This unexpected marriage of pure nature and industrial innovation is celebrated by bringing together the colors and materials of each unique landscape. Focus is placed on Seattle when the sun is shining and the air is clear, creating a space that is bright and fresh.

The hotel’s Emerald Elegance Unscripted service culture, offers approachable luxury with a timeless design that celebrates the marriage of pure nature, rich history and industrial innovation.  Here, genuine human interactions are the norm, with a uniquely Seattle approach. Guests will experience Emerald Experts throughout the hotel, ready to share their Seattle knowledge with hotel guests. Bouquet Your Stay will offer the opportunity to pick from fresh Pike Place Market flowers on display at check-in to enhance each guest room.

The focal point of the lobby is a light fixture composed of over 250 hand-blown LED glass droplets that shimmer and reflect gorgeous light throughout the space. The installation is an artistic representation of the rain in Seattle. The dark finishes have been replaced with white and the walls were opened up to create a bright and airy space. The front desk is a simple combination of streamlined cold-rolled steel and beautiful natural white marble. Two large-scale mural paintings pull colors from the landscape to offer a welcoming, artistic reflection of Seattle’s natural surroundings.

The palette of the new guest room is defined by the local landscape with soft greys, rich greens, and a hint of rose, which adds soft warmth to the space. The art is an abstract interpretation of the topography of Seattle expressed in an organic, natural palette.

The new All Water Seafood & Oyster Bar, which is located on the site of what was a tackle & bait shop in 1936, draws inspiration from the materials and tools once sold there. It celebrates Seattle’s maritime industry, from the portraits of fishermen and articulated shelves to the fresh seafood from the Pacific Northwest. The rustic materials draw from the simplicity of fishing boats, incorporating worn white-washed wood, metal, and simple white brick.

Right off the lobby, Bell Lounge is the perfect retreat to relax fireside with a seasonal collection of artisan cocktails curated from craft distilleries. Built in 1914, the Port of Seattle’s original Bell Street Pier, was once a bustling place to do business. Find inspiration in the craftsmanship of the Meyer Wells wood bar that embodies the fusion of nature and culture found in the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy a selection of approachable bites in the elegant yet relaxed space.

The new wine cellar, also showcasing a handcrafted table from Meyer Wells, will feature a variety of Washington Wines to take guests through a tour of the Pacific Northwest, without ever having to leave the hotel.

The meeting space and ballroom areas take inspiration from the rich coastline of the Puget Sound and ferry boats. The glass beaded wall covering that adorns the foyer is a glittering interpretation of the Sound waters on a clear sunny day.

“After a year in Seattle we are energized to continue our presence in the market with the comprehensive renovation at Loews Hotel 1000,” said Jonathan M. Tisch, Chairman and CEO, Loews Hotels & Co. “We are proud to combine the heritage and history of Loews Hotels, our recognized service culture and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with the reimagined look and feel of the hotel.”
