Rockin' Desert Wedding Trends

It's no wonder Tucson has become a worldwide wedding destination with our sunny skies and breathtaking views. Blessed with such beautiful property to host these special occasions, Loews Ventana Canyon Resort has seen its fair share of jaw-dropping ideas for saying, "I Do!"

Eat

With an Executive Chef like Ken Harvey on our team, we're no strangers to top-notch cuisine — and our weddings are no different. Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is fortunate enough to have our own pastry shop on property and the talented team lead by Krista Owens always knocks it out of the park! We just love that "naked cakes" are still so popular with couples and get excited to see exciting new additions to them like this cake with edible gold leaf. Classic, elegant and awe-inspiring!

Did someone say, beer burro? Yes, you read that correctly. A company in Phoenix actually rents out burros adorned with a sombrero and serape, saddled with casks of your favorite brew, adding one of the most original unique touches to any festivity that I’ve ever seen. Not only is it a great cocktail hour ice-breaker for guests who may not know one another, but it’s a great photo opportunity for your guests. I highly recommend sharing a wedding hashtag with your guests so you can look back at all the fun moments they captured after the festivities.

Be Married!

Our 80-foot natural waterfall is usually a top contender when it comes to brides selecting their spot to say "I Do", but lately we've been working with couples who have no fear thinking outside the box (or waterfall). One recent couple took advantage of a scheduled re-seeding of our Tom Fazio championship golf courses, usually off-limits to events of any kind, and had a fairy tale ceremony fit for the pages of bridal magazines around the world!
