I have made it my personal mission to find the tastiest, prettiest and most spectacular gin cocktail. (Secondarily, I would like to be able to recreate this, but that’s a much bigger goal). To complete my mission, I explored some of the best bars in the city so you can enjoy the best (and sometimes, top secret) Seattle cocktails yourself. Our concierge team pointed me in the right direction, and off I went. Check out the below spots for the best place to wet your whistle in Seattle!

Knee High Stocking Co.

Located in one of our favorite Seattle neighborhoods, Capitol Hill, Knee High Stocking Co. fulfills all of your speakeasy dreams. Super chic wallpaper and uber retro booths make up the interior of this cool (and secretive) underground bar. The craft cocktails are extremely well made, and they even serve dinner on certain nights of the week. Reservations are recommended, as this space is pretty small, keeping it even more intimate.

Tavern Law

Vintage cocktails are the bread and butter at this bar and restaurant in Capitol Hill. Named after the law that legalized drinking in public bars, Tavern Law pays tribute to the golden age of cocktails with classic drinks and exciting twists on old favorites. With an old library feel inside the space, this will most definitely be the spot for your hipster Seattle photo. See the next feature for its best kept secret…

Needle & Thread

Another speakeasy? We told you this would be the best list of cocktail bars in Seattle, you didn’t believe us??? Needle & Thread is located at the same address as the above Tavern Law, but with even more mystery surrounding it. With only 25 seats, this space is even more tricky to get into than Knee High Stocking Co., but comes just as highly recommended. The cocktails are great, and the space is just beautiful. I mean… look at that staircase. Come ON.

Vons 1000 Spirits

This bar had to make the list, as I always make it a stop along my Loews Hotel 1000 route. By the way, Vons 1000 Spirits isn’t related to our own “1000” name; the nomenclature actually comes from the number of different types of liquors and spirits they keep on hand for your drinking pleasure. The main reason this bar made the list was because of their “hand spun” cocktails. These cocktails are made with fresh cotton candy, and the spirit/sparkling wine is poured over top to make a deliciously sweet and fresh treat that will bring you right back to your days at the county fair, with an adult twist. Their food is also pretty great, but these cocktails really steal the show.

All Water Bar

The Bar at All Water Seafood is one of the newest cocktail bars in Seattle, and is the closest one to Loews Hotel 1000… it’s in the lobby! Trust us when we say that this is more than just a lobby bar. It serves amazing, innovative cocktails like the PNW Kir, a beautiful vodka based cocktail made with riesling, crème de cassis, and house-made blackberry preserves. The proximity of this spot isn’t the only thing to love: the $2 oysters from 3 to 6 PM (every day) are a game changer.
