Tucson's Top Farmers Market

What's better than being outdoors on a sunny Tucson day and getting to explore some its best local offerings? Travel like a local on your next visit to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort and experience our most popular weekend tradition, Heirloom Farmers Market.

Fresh Produce

Inevitably, when you hear "farmers market," you think of produce... and for good reason! Some of Tucson's best farmers, bakers and ranchers unite at the Heirloom Farmers Market throughout the weekend, bringing their fresh products right to the public. I love browsing the selections and letting the ingredients inspire my meal planning for delicious and healthy dishes for the following week. As for go-to farmers market staples, our culinary team at Loews Ventana utilizes Sleeping Frog Farms products on menus throughout the resort.

Come Hungry

While the farmers market is always great for stocking up on fresh products to cook with, I'm always partial to exploring the ready-to-eat options. There's a saying, "don't shop hungry," but I think in this case it's best to come prepared to sample what the local vendors are cooking up. It's no secret that Sonoran Hot Dogs are my all-time favorite thing to eat in Tucson, but vegans and vegetarians, have no fear because Tumerico has you covered. Now everyone can enjoy this ultimate southwestern favorite with their Vegan Sonoran Dog.

Succulent Souvenirs

Having lived in the desert most of my life now, I may have developed a slight obsession with succulents! There's something beautiful and artistic about some of Tucson's local cacti and they require very little maintenance (which is good because I definitely don't have a green thumb). When I come across colorful and tiny versions of them I snatch them up because they make adorable home decor as well as great souvenirs. Heirloom's different market locations feature local nurseries like Arid Adaptations, who are sure to have plenty to choose from. Pick your favorite to bring home for a loved one, but make sure to ask for a box because they can be easily damaged floating around your suitcase.

Meet you at the market 🌵
