Running in Minneapolis

Running in Minneapolis is an exercise in the art of multitasking, offering a way to explore the city and enjoy the outdoors while working out.  Autumn is a popular season for running in Minnesota with vibrant fall colors and cooler, comfortable temperatures.  Minneapolis is a running friendly with trails along the Mississippi riverfront, through city parks, and around the Chain of Lakes.  Regardless of the route you choose you’ll be rewarded with a run in the heart of the city complemented by great natural scenery.

Loews Minneapolis is located 8 blocks away from the river, making our hotel a great starting off point for your run.  I’m partial to runs along and across the Mississippi River with routes that can be abbreviated or extended based on which bridge you decide to cross.  Within several miles of the hotel you can cross the river on the Broadway Avenue, Plymouth Avenue, Hennepin Avenue, and Stone Arch Bridges.  With some of the best views of the river and downtown skyline, your workout will fly by - as long as you don’t stop to take too many photos.
