WELL Health-Safety Rating

The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party verified assessment for new and existing buildings reviewing operational policies, maintenance protocols, stakeholder engagement, and emergency plans to address a post-COVID-19 climate. This milestone achievement across the portfolio, with the exception of hotels in Orlando, which are part of the Universal Orlando Resort, further demonstrates our commitment to creating environments that promote the well-being of guests, team members, and neighbors while upholding the highest standards of health and safety.

In order to obtain the WELL Health-Safety Rating, each of our buildings met criteria focused on cleaning and sanitization procedures, emergency preparedness programs, health services, air, and water quality management, stakeholder communications promoting health and wellness, and innovation inclusive of enhanced ventilation and particle filtration. Properties prominently showcase a visible seal to affirm the buildings are WELL Health-Safety Rated and validated by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), most recognized for third-party credentialing and verification for the LEED green building program.

This rating further revitalizes our core message of “Welcoming You like Family” which captures Loews’ differentiating ability to create an experience that allows travelers to feel safe, protected, and cared for just as they would at home, or when visiting family, as illustrated through authentic, unscripted service and enhanced safety and well-being protocols.

In Case of Fire

You are in a building that has been constructed under stringent fire safety standards, with the most advanced fire prevention systems available. All floors and rooms have sprinklers and are equipped with smoke detectors. It is important that you familiarize yourself with these instructions, ensuring that you are prepared in the event of an emergency.

Upon Arrival

Upon entering your room, establish the route towards the emergency exits, which you would take in case of fire. Memorize the number of doors between your room and the fire exit. Locate and confirm the position of the fire alarm and extinguisher on your floor. Please note that each building tower is equipped with an emergency stairwell leading to the ground floor which will be fully pressurized in case of a fire emergency.

If You Discover a Fire

Pull the nearest fire alarm. If possible, close all doors around the fire area in order to keep the fire from spreading. Attempt to put out only small fires by using a fire extinguisher. Avoid engaging in large fires and exit the building quickly. Listen for announcements and do not use the elevators. Always take your room key. You will need to get back into your room if there are obstacles or fire blocking your way. Stay calm, do not hurry, and try to keep relaxed. The danger is almost always less than you imagine it to be.

If You Hear an Alarm

Listen for instructions on the public address system. If an evacuation is ordered and you are in your room, remember to take your key with you. You will need it to gain access later. With the back of your hand, test the door to the hallway to see if it is warm or cool. Open the door slowly if it is cool. Close the door quickly if there is fire or thick smoke in the hall.

Team Member Safety

All team members working on guest floors are equipped with a personal security device.
