A Prime Location Right on the Beach

It’s nice to know our property is located right on the beach and only 20 minutes from Los Angeles International Airport. And you can get to your terminal via private town car, taxi, or shared shuttle service. Santa Monica is a very bike-friendly city so we encourage you to rent a bicycle while you are here or simply explore the area on foot. For travel statewide or in the local area, we suggest a rental car. Use the Big Blue Bus, Metro Bus or Metrolink light rail for shorter trips.

Airport Transportation

Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel is located approximately 20 minutes (9 miles) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) via Lincoln Blvd (12 miles via the freeways).

The fare is approximately $45–$55 for a taxi from LAX International Airport to the hotel via Lincoln Boulevard. (Tip: Tell the driver to take Lincoln Boulevard instead of the freeway to the hotel)

From the hotel to LAX, it is a $30 flat rate.

Sedans are $112 each way, limousines $240 each way. The driver will greet you at Baggage Claim. Add $20 if you are arriving from an International City.

Seven-person shared van service is available at the airport. Tickets can be purchased outside of baggage claim for $15 per person. Please be aware shuttles make up to 10 stops and have longer commute times.

On Foot: Santa Monica is concentrated into just 8.3 square miles (13.5km). Most of the hotels, attractions and primary shopping and dining districts are clustered within easy walking distance of one another.

By Bike: Santa Monica is a bicycle-friendly city, with well-marked lanes, routes, paths and bike racks located all over town. We encourage you to rent a bike as a fun, economical and green way to explore.

By Bus: Santa Monica's Big Blue Bus serves Santa Monica, the west side of Los Angeles, LAX and 10 neighboring communities with more than 1,000 bus stops. An express line connects downtown Santa Monica to downtown Los Angeles.

By Car: Pacific Coast Highway (California 1), the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10), Santa Monica Boulevard (Historic Route 66) and Wilshire and Pico Boulevards run directly through the city.

Santa Monica offers easy access to the Los Angeles network of freeways with express routes all across Southern California – from Downtown Los Angeles to Disneyland, from Pasadena’s Rose Bowl to Malibu. Surface streets offer scenic routes between neighborhoods.
