A Dog's Delight Pet-Friendly Places in NOLA

#LoewsLovesPets

They're not just a pet, they're a part of the family. And here at Loews, we feel the same way. When you bring your furry best friend with you on your travels, we like to pamper your pooch with the same care and comfort that we offer each and every one of our guests.

So grab the leash (and maybe a treat for later) while we highlight the best places in the city to tour with your tail-wagging pal.

Café Amelie

This lush and enchanting courtyard sits nestled in the heart of the French Quarter on Royal Street. The attached carriage house (which seats patrons who prefer an indoor setting) is part of the home of wealthy French banker Michael Heine. Built in 1836, Heine here resided with his wife Amelie Miltonberger, for whom the restaurant is named, as well as their daughter, Alice Heine, who became the first American Princess of Monaco at the age of 22. Elegant and romantic in history and atmosphere, this café offers elevated fare with a Cajun flair. And of course, the outdoor space is welcoming to pups and humans alike.

Dat Dog

Sporting three unique locations, all painted in vibrantly happy colors, this casual eatery offers "affordable food, fun-loving staff... and a sanctuary of joy." Dat Dog's menu is as eclectic as its decor, with over 30 topping choices for your customized "haute dog," featuring vegan and vegetarian sausages. They also offer grilled chicken, burgers or battered fresh cod for those who want a little something different. At the Magazine Street and Freret Street locations, feel free to bring Fido along when you dine outside.

The Bulldog

A dog-friendly neighborhood watering hole, this uptown location of The Bulldog is perfect for the beer enthusiast or someone just looking for a casual resting spot with some good eats. With top-notch pub fare, 48 craft beers on tap and over 100 bottles to choose from, it's comfortable, unpretentious and inviting. The outdoor patio even has a designated "Doggie Door" and water-misters to keep you cool during the summer months.

George Rodrigue Gallery

The late George Rodrigue's mastery of color and passion for his Cajun culture comes through every piece in this gallery. The Blue Dog Series responsible for his worldwide fame was inspired by a Cajun legend of a werewolf or "loup-garou" but also modeled after his own dog, Tiffany. Leashed or carried pets are welcome inside the gallery located on Royal Street if your canine friend shares your eye for the arts.
