Loews Regency New York Hotel Offers Exclusive Amenities for Hotel Guests to Elevate Art & Cultural Programming
As a member of The Met’s Corporate Patron Program, the hotel offers private tours of the Museum’s collection to guests, expanding Local by Loews Hotels program
Loews Regency New York Hotel, one of Manhattan’s most iconic hotels, is proud to announce experiences at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world’s leading art institutions. As part of the hotel’s enhanced Local by Loews Hotels offerings, guests have the rare opportunity to experience intimate, thematic tours of The Met’s renowned collection. Local by Loews Hotels is a brand program that brings guests closer to each destination's distinctive culture, people, and businesses through partnerships, pop-ups, and year-round local experiences.
The private tours are being offered as part of The Met’s Corporate Patron Program. Limited to only 10 guests per session, these intimate tours will be led by The Met’s esteemed Museum educators. Each tour will start on a Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., when the Museum is closed to the public, allowing for a unique, less crowded experience. The tours will provide access to various aspects of The Met’s celebrated collection, offering participants an unparalleled glimpse into the world of art and history.

The Met Tours include:
Divine Egypt – Wednesday, January 14 at 4:00 p.m.
In ancient Egypt, images of gods weren’t just images—they brought the gods to life. Egyptians believed that it was through their depictions in tombs, temples, and shrines that the deities could enter sacred spaces and become active participants in rituals, offering a vital connection between the human and divine worlds. Over Egypt’s long history, its belief system grew to include more than 1,500 gods with many overlapping forms and traits. Subtle visual cues like what a figure wore, how they posed, or the symbols they carried helped identify them and their roles.
Fashion in Art – Wednesday, February 11 at 4:00 p.m.
Consider fashion through the ages and what garments reveal to us about the cultures that created them. This tour explores clothing represented in paint, stone, wood, and other media found across the Museum’s collections.
Seeing Silence: The Paintings of Helene Schjerfbeck – Wednesday March 11 at 4:00 p.m.
Beloved in Nordic countries for her highly original style, Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) is relatively unknown to the rest of the world. Overcoming immense personal struggles and working in a remote location for decades, she produced a powerful body of work through sheer force of will. This exhibition affirms her rightful place in the story of modern art.
Arts of the Ancient Americas – Wednesday, April 8 at 4:00 p.m.
Explore works from different periods and in different media, focusing on the ways in which the selection of specific materials—from gold to jade and feathers—shaped their meaning.
“This program reflects our commitment to connecting our guests with the very best of New York City’s cultural offerings,” said John Maibach, Managing Director, Loews Regency New York Hotel. “Our guests are already frequent visitors to The Met, located a short distance from our doors, so we believe this new offering will be something they will really enjoy and further enhances our Local by Loews Hotels programming – connecting our hotel guests with the unique elements of our neighborhood and community.”
Guests wishing to participate in these private tours can secure their spot by contacting the hotel’s concierge team directly after booking their room reservation. Availability is limited, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience for each participant.
