Fresh Air and Outdoor Springtime Activities for All in KC:
One of the most unique things I’ve noticed about Kansas City is their year-round city-wide activities. No matter if you’re here on a business trip and have a short window of time to catch as much as you can or her with family, friends or everyone in between, these are some great outdoor activities within 30 minutes of the hotel.

Get out and enjoy the local shops with the locals! On the First Friday of every month, thousands of residents and visitors fill the sidewalks and alleyways of the Crossroads, enjoying what has become the city’s liveliest and most popular recurring event. Open year-round. Arts organizations, galleries, studios, and a wide variety of local businesses feature local, regional, national and international artists as well as live entertainment from 5 to 9 p.m.
Eat like a local and enjoy perusing over 150 local business stands at the regions largest Farmers Market, on Saturdays and Sundays year-round.

Take a stroll with Fido and the family through Kansas City's largest public park, Loose Park. With 75 acres of wassailing paths, greenery and more, it's a great spot to unwind this Spring just 15 minutes away from the hotel!
Get wild for wildlife at the Kansas City Zoo. Since opening it's doors back in 1909 - the Kansas City Zoo is not only a great place to enjoy some outdoor springtime sun, but learn about all of the hard working zoologists efforts behind wildlife education connecting people to each other and the natural world to promote understanding, appreciation, and conservation.
There is nothing more beautiful that watching mother nature come to life. The Powell Gardens is home to the KC Botanical Gardens - a short drive East of KC.
"Set on 970 acres of lush, rolling hills and windswept meadows, Powell Gardens offers breathtaking display gardens, interesting architecture, a nature trail and a year-round calendar of special events and classes for the entire family."
Batter up! Baseball season is just around the corner and that means snagging some tickets to Americas favorite past-time sporting event over at Kauffman Stadium -- just a 10 minute drive from the hotel. Maybe you'll get lucky and catch a ball!
Downtown KC
For me exploring a new city is best done by foot -- sometimes with no actual game plan in mind. While I meandered the City of Fountains last summer I came across some of the most beautiful public green-spaces that I was able to relax and enjoy, I even caught up on some reading too! Downtown KC is an extremely "walkable" destination with easy access to the river front walking paths, and over 20 of the city parks. A great way to enjoy some down time in KC this Spring!
For the Spring-time Rainy Days
Mother nature is not only unpredictable but can sometimes take charge of your travel plans and causing you to postpone the outdoor activities or cancel some of them in worst case scenario. Luckily Kansas City is home to the ideal location in the Midwest – close enough to winter wanderlust when you’re feeling festive but also south enough to be warmer than most Midwest destinations. So here are some great Spring Showers suggestions to making the most of a staycation in KC.

KC is a beautiful city. I had the opportunity to visit last summer, and I truly enjoyed walking around the city, exploring. I’m someone that enjoys seeing places that I am visiting by foot when possible, I grew up in Chicago and walked everywhere and public transited it when I could. It’s something that not only helps me enjoy all that the city culture has to offer but you get to meet locals and get exercise -- KC is a very walkable city, just like Chicago but on a smaller scale!
