Family Fun at Loews Coronado Bay

San Diego is a hot destination for families, especially in the summertime. The city has plenty of fun attractions and inspiring sights, and the weather is unbeatable. And since we know how much everyone likes to rest and relax after a long day of traveling, we make sure to have fun family activities right here on property. Here's what's on tap if you visit us at Loews Coronado this summer.

Poolside

Games

Our pool deck is a happening spot: there are three pools (one exclusively for kids and another for adults), along with the recently renovated poolside eatery La Cantina, and poolside games, including ladder ball, cornhole, giant chess, limbo, and hula hoop contests. Our onsite team members oversee these activities to make sure every kid is having fun and playing safe. Hit the pool deck for games from 12 PM–3 PM every day during the summer.

Movies

The poolside fun doesn't stop when the sun sets. We host complimentary Dive-In Movies every Friday and Saturday night, featuring family favorites such as Finding Nemo and Moana. Movies begin at 8 PM and usually end before 10 PM.

S'mores

What's more comforting than the classic combo of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers? We offer complimentary s'mores on the Marina Terrace from 7 PM–8 PM on Fridays, right before the Dive-In movie.

Rentals

We're grateful to have our partner, Action Sports Rentals, located right here on our marina dock. So if you're interested in riding a sailboat, WaveRunner, or even a surrey group bike, your rental is just a few steps away. Sailing on the San Diego Bay with the city skyline right in front of you is an unforgettable experience only enhanced by the presence of your loved ones.

Fishing

Kids are invited to the marina dock, a few steps outside our lobby, for fishing lessons. There, they will learn the basics of fishing as well as the local bay species. Kids' fishing lessons are on Fridays from 4 PM–5 PM and fishing poles are provided. Space is limited so guests must reserve a spot at our pool concierge.

Beachside

Direct access to the Silver Strand Beach is easy with our regular shuttle, even though it's only a 5-minute walk away. You'll find our team at the "Loews at the Strand" booth and they'll be happy to provide you and your family with towels, beach chairs, toys, sunblock, boogie boards and more. They also offer kite flying on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays during the summer from 10 AM–11 AM. And on Saturdays there's a Jr. Rangers Program from 3:30 PM–4:30 PM.

Indoor Fun

Discovery Table

The family entertainment continues inside the resort with our Discovery Table. Here, kids and adults alike can learn about the natural wildlife and the local ecosystem courtesy of our partners from the parks department. They provide displays, activities, and even a microscope to see the hidden, everyday wonders in regular beach sand. The Discovery Table is held in the lobby every Friday and Sunday at 2 PM.

Rainy Days

While the weather is typically 78 degrees and sunny, sometimes San Diego sees overcast skies and rain. (Sad but true.) On rainy days, kids are welcome to our Rainy Day Room, which is filled with movies, games, and more. Poor weather can't ruin a good game of Wii Bowling or Uno. Bonus: there's also a PS4.
