Loews Boston's Good Neighbor Program in Action

Loews Hotels was first founded as a family business and is still considered one today. One way our company maintains this ethos is through our Good Neighbor Program, created by our CEO and Chairman, Jonathan Tisch, as the hospitality industry's first comprehensive community outreach program. We're especially proud that the Loews Hotels Good Neighbor Policy was awarded the President’s Service Award, the highest honor given by the President of the United States for community service directed at solving critical social problems.

All Loews properties participate in and host Good Neighbor events in their communities. Here at Loews Boston, one of our recent Good Neighbor initiatives has been in partnership with AccesSportAmerica's 2018 Mayor's Cup Regatta. Here's a little more on how our Good Neighbor program works.

AccesSportAmerica was founded by Ross Lilley, President and Executive Director, with a mission to inspire higher function and fitness for children and adults of all disabilities through high-challenge sports and training.

The organization creates programs focused around encouraging each person's highest physical and athletic potential, while supporting social, cognitive, and emotional well-being.

"We seek to create a community where differences are diminished, blurred, and often erased. Our programs are designed to build a community that lasts a lifetime," says Lilley.

Throughout the year, AccesSportAmerica hosts a series of events to raise awareness and raise funds for their work. These events include the Annual Wave Gala, Mayor's Cup Regatta, Run for ACCESS, Spin for ACCESS, & Corporate Sponsorships.

2018 Mayor's Cup Regatta & Loews Boston

Loews Boston was proud to participate in the Mayor's Cup Regatta for the first time on July 15.

The Regatta took place on the esplanade of the Charles River, with a spirited boat race between ASA's donors as the main event. Each team consisted of 8 athletes — including at least one person living with a disability. Teams raced in Hawaiian Outrigger Canoes, dressed in themes. Being the former Boston Police Headquarters, Loews Boston chose a theme of Police Officers and Donuts.
