Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, marks the end of Carnival season. For those celebrating, it means all sorts of fun and food.

The beauty of the festivities, though, is that you can be at home or virtually anywhere else, and have a great time in honor of Mardi Gras. If eating gumbo and drinking Hurricanes is your idea of a good time, it doesn’t require a flight to New Orleans (though that’s always recommended!), but visiting a local spot that is probably doing something pretty special in honor of the occasion.

Drew Mills, Director of Food & Beverage at Loews New Orleans Hotel says: “This cocktail is a true celebration of Mardi Gras. Made with Taaka King Cake Vodka, cinnamon simple syrup, crème de violette and white cranberry juice, it’s a taste of Carnival and the famous king cake with each sip. Hand shaken for individual cocktails or in large format for a punch, adding a multi-color sugar rim in Mardi Gras colors to each glass gives it that extra festive flare.”
