New Look. New Era. Loews Miami Beach Hotel Debuts a $55 Million Transformation for Miami Art Week
Redesigned guestrooms, fresh restaurant concepts and “Art of the Escape” usher in a new era of coastal luxury for the iconic oceanfront resort
Miami Art Week always brings a certain electricity to South Beach - but this year, Loews Miami Beach Hotel is raising the bar. Fresh off a $55 million transformation, the iconic oceanfront resort steps confidently into a new era of modern coastal luxury, unveiling redesigned guestrooms, two new dining concepts and a full week of immersive art, fashion and Art Basel-inspired programming from December 2–7.
The experience is called Art of the Escape, and it’s exactly that - a vibrant, sensory invitation to rediscover South Beach through a creative lens.

A Creative Takeover | Meet Artist-in-Residence Stef Ross
At the center of the celebration is Stef Ross, the hotel’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence. Her sculptural, pop-culture-infused pieces - think rhinestone-dusted swimwear, jeweled floral art, and nostalgic Lite-Brite creations - set the tone for a week where playfulness meets sophistication.

Throughout the lobby, Ross turns public spaces into a living gallery. Guests can wander through her pop-up installation, watch her create in real time, or book personalized sessions to design custom Lite-Brite collector boxes. It’s art you can appreciate up close, and even bring home.

The Art of Swim | Carasoles Swimwear Pop-Up
Art Basel style gets a beachside twist with a multi-day pop-up from Colombian swimwear line, Carasoles, founded by sisters Valery and Victoria. Each day brings a new inspiration - Greece, Spain, Colombia - reflected in curated displays, live painting, destination-themed cocktails and personalization stations. It’s a fashion pop-up that feels more like stepping into a chic, transportive vignette.

The Art of the Cocktail | Bistro Collins & The Sushi Bar
Inside the hotel, two brand-new culinary concepts make their debut. Bistro Collins, a coastal-inspired American bistro and The Sushi Bar, an intimate Japanese dining experience, host the returning Art of the Cocktail series. Expect drinks as photogenic as they are delicious - design-forward cocktails, intricate garnishes and imaginative presentations that turn each sip into a statement. Pop-ups from Glenfiddich, Ruinart, Whispering Angel and Ketel Once are also on the menu.

A Fresh Perspective on Coastal Luxury
The crown jewel of the hotel’s transformation is its newly redesigned guestrooms, envisioned by New York design studio Meyer Davis. Sun-washed color palettes, modern textures and soft coastal finishes create an atmosphere that feels equal parts serene and sophisticated. The spaces channel the essence of South Beach - breezy, elegant and endlessly inviting, making them the perfect retreat after a day immersed in Miami’s art scene.
