Embrace the Great Outdoors

For the travelers with a car or bike.

  • A trip to the Land of 10,000 Lakes would not be complete without a visit to the region’s sprawling Chain of Lakes. Located about five miles from downtown Minneapolis is Lake Harriet, one of the closest locations off the lake that's open to visitors year-round. Lake Harriet's beautiful landscape boasts free access to the lakes walking paths and green-space, the perfect location to enjoy a picnic lunch. Don't forget to bring a ball for Fido because this area just outside of downtown Minneapolis is really a pet-family's dream for everyone to give their legs a little stretch.

  • If you have a little extra time on your schedule check out the Bandstand where the city hosts a free concert series with a range of genres. A great toe tapping experience for all and free.

  • Biking paths around the lake offer a unique tranquil way to view of the area as you pedal your way though nature and enjoy a sunny afternoon.

  • A fishing pier awaits and ready for you to test your master fisherman skills with the family for some afternoon relaxation.

  • Numerous acres of gardens, decorative fountains line the sprawling area and are a great place to enjoy a newly budding Minnesota great outdoors.
